Happy Holidays from LISC’s Child Care Facilities Fund Team
Happy Holidays to you and yours! This season is a time for reflecting—on the accomplishments of the year gone by, and on our hopes for the new decade to come. Some of the highlights of our year include:
- Developing and distributing the 2019 Rhode Island Early Learning Facilities Needs Assessment
- Investing nearly $570K in funding to the early childhood community for facility improvements:
– $397,384 in loans
– $106,109 in grants
– $66,000 to consultants for facility design and support - Adding a fourth module to our Online Learning Platform
- Continuing our Outdoor Play Interventions Program for the third year, focusing on small-scale improvements to outdoor play spaces
- Spending over 1,000 hours with child care centers needing specialized technical assistance
