Get Your Facility Ready for Spring
As the weather gets warmer, it is time to plan for spring. Here are a few tips to make sure your facility is ready:
- 1. Schedule seasonal maintenance, such as Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) filter replacements and updates; water heater and furnace checks; gutter clearing; paint touch-ups; and roof inspections. More information about facility maintenance can be found here.
- 2. Inspect and repair, replace, or rake playground surfacing as necessary. Heavy snow and freeze-thaw cycles can damage many types of safety surfacing and can compact mulch so that it does not meet licensing requirements. Read more about safety surfacing in these Fast Facts.
- 3. Aerate your lawn, cut back dead branches and plants, and ensure all lawn maintenance equipment (ex. lawn mowers, rakes, sprinklers, etc.) are in good working condition.
