City of Providence Early Learning Infrastructure Support Program Impact

Building upon the success of the first and second phase of the City of Providence Early Learning Facilities Improvement Grants program, City of Providence Mayor Brett Smiley partnered with LISC’s RI Child Care and Early Learning Facilities Fund for a third phase to administer $1,975,000 for continued child care facility improvements. A total of $1,570,350 was allotted specifically for facility pass-through grants. The City has continued to invest in this program in recognition of the ongoing need for increased access to high-quality early learning programming.

Grants were available to Providence-based child care providers for the planning and renovation of physical space during the period of July 1, 2023 through September 19, 2025.

The impact report (which can be downloaded as a PDF by clicking here) is a summary of the program and the impact of that investment.
