LISC, in partnership with the State of Rhode Island Department of Human Services (DHS), has announced the second installment of funding through the Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) Capital Fund. More than $4 million was awarded for expansion projects that will create new, high-quality early learning slots for children in Rhode Island.
In a March 2021 special election, voters approved the ECCE Capital Fund, which allocated $15 million to support child care facilities in RI. Public support was strong, with nearly 67% voting to affirm.
